I grew up in Woodbridge, went to school in Framlingham then trained as a teacher in Hertfordshire. My hobbies include walking, swimming, amateur dramatics and holidaying in France! My husband, Ray and I have three grown-up children; James, Kate and Thomas who, I’m glad to say, all live locally.

As children my sister and I went to Sunday school at St. John’s in Woodbridge and were confirmed when teenagers. I moved to Kesgrave when I married and have worshipped at All Saints since 1974.

During my years here I have been a member of the P.C.C; a catechist, helping prepare people for baptism; and a server at Holy Communion. Each new step convinced me I should be doing more in God’s service.

In the year 2000, with my children grown, I began training as an Ordained Local Minister (O.L.M.). I quickly realised I could not continue teaching full-time so I resigned my job and became a supply teacher in local primary schools, choosing to work just two or three days a week.

An O.L.M. in this diocese studies with a small group under a tutor (a vicar or established reader) and the practical training is undertaken mostly in the home parish.

I was ordained deacon on 25th September 2005 and priested the following year.

I love the variety my work here at All Saints allows – taking services, including baptisms, weddings and funerals; visiting parishioners both at home and in hospital; leading activities with children; taking the Christian message into local care homes and giving lessons in the High School.

With a population of over 12,000, All Saints is a vibrant parish in which to work and Robin Spittle is an inspiring leader to work alongside.
