Hey, I'm Sarah. I'm a twenty-something part time youth worker, part time horse-riding instructor, who is very excited to be going back to university this September to study for a second degree, this time in School, Youth and Community Work with Practical Theology (it's a mouthful!) I was also one of the leaders for the 2006 Fusion trip to Rwanda, and since then have felt very passionately about taking another group of young people - it's true when they say a trip to Africa is a life-changing experience, and I can't wait to be part of such a fantastic team! I like music, horses, the colour blue, 80s cartoons and brie, apple and grape sandwiches.

Hi I’m Dan,  I’m 17 years old, 5” something and I’m in my first year of sixthform. I’m a techie & I spend 95% of my time behind my laptop...this won’t help me in Africa but I thought i’d share it anyway! I’m really looking forward to the Africa trip, it will open up new pathways and help me explorer different cultures, how other people praise and worship, and after studying African music at GCSE, i’ll hopefully get to experience some African drumming and singing! This trip might not be as much of a culture shock as it will for some, as i also spend quite a lot of my time outdoors, however the one thing i will miss the most is Dr Pepper! How I will live without the stuff i don’t know... My favorite type of sandwich is cheese...cheddar of-course!

My name is Becky Kent. I'm sixteen years old. I have a little space to cram myself into. I have just left school but have ten years of it left before I can achieve my goal of being able to honestly write Dr.Kent on letterheads. Whilst in Africa I don't know how I will cope without facebook, my iPod or my piano. I am really dependent upon them, especially music, I don't normally go a day without a dose of my top five songs. My least favorite things to exist on Planet earth are spiders, swiftly followed up by the presence of the dark. It really makes me nervous. When I first heard about the trip I knew I wanted to go. I wanted to experience a different walk of life, experience a different kind of worship, and feel a different culture. I am genuinely excited about building a hall in the blistering heat and find the sad as well as the happy moments the trip may hold equally inspiring. Oh and, I don't like sandwiches. I much prefer to eat pasta.

I’m Alex, I’m 18 and have just finished doing my A Levels in English Literature, History and Religious Studies... the results of which I’ll be receiving whilst we’re in Rwanda! In October I’m hoping to study English Literature at uni, depending of course on my grades. Having spent the first 10 weeks of my life in Kenya, I have always had a passion for Africa, and after visiting again in 2001 I can’t wait to return! I am very excited about being immersed in a new culture, meeting new people and learning more about myself and, more importantly, God, through both the challenges and the blessings that we experience whilst in Rwanda. Whilst I’m slightly daunted by the prospect of having to leave behind my mobile phone, hair straighteners and iPod, I can’t wait for the adventures that will no doubt be in store for us... Oh and I’m a veggie, so my favourite sandwich is probably Quorn and salad or something rubbish like that!

Hello, My name is Karen Turnbull, I'm 34 and the youth worker for Fusion316. I'm looking forward to going to African with some fabulous young people and brilliant leaders... it's going to be great to see what God does with us and through us. Hobbies...? Cinema, reading, blogging and hanging out with Rob - the Turnbull husband (the one with the beard, in case you weren't sure...). My favorite sandwich has to be peanut butter, honey and banana :D

Has nothing to say...

Hi I'm Nic, I'm ...oh no 30 something...but only just! I like to think I've been drafted in as the one with a bit of Africa experience, having spent much of my gap year in Tanzania carrying out conservation work and 'nipping' to Kenya throughout Uni.  Now I have a more UK based life working as a surveyor in London - which means I cannot wait to get my feet back on to African soil! There is too much that I am looking forward to mention - I have no doubt it will be an amazing experience for everyone. Hobbies wise- mostly cramming as much in as possible, but horses tend come top of the list, I also sneak in the odd Triathlon and a bit pub quizzing too... Sandwiches? As many as possible.

Hi, my name is Sam and I’m 17. I go to Ipswich School and have just finished 5 AS levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Critical Thinking, with the intention to study Medicine. I enjoy playing rugby as a prop and cricket as someone to make up the numbers. I love music, especially something I can play air guitar to. Some of my favourite’s include Queen, U2, AC/DC, Led Zep and many more. My favourite sandwich is ham and cheese...every time!

I'm Chris "Stewie" Stewart and I'm 16 years old (soon to be 17!). I am a Christian who also happens to be a Trekkie... I have just finished my GCSEs at Kesgrave High School and am currently awaiting my results; as well as a new year of school at Kesgrave's Sixth form where I plan to study, RE, English Literature and Language, Geography and Drama. I really don't have a clue how I am going to cope in Rwanda without my gadgets and personal items but I reckon I'm with a group who I can depend on to help me when I need it... "cough cough". I suppose they're alright really! In all seriousness I am really looking forward to the trip which I know will be a beneficial and amazing experience which I know I will not forget! I cannot wait to immerse myself in the Rwandan Culture - I really cannot wait to meet the people (or eat the local cuisine!). I hope to strengthen my bond with God whilst out in Rwanda. I have had little time this year to spend much time with God so, spiritually, I hope to get to know an old friend better during my time away! My favourite colour is blue and my favourite animal is a cat! I wouldn't say I have a favourite band but I would guess that Coldplay and Linkin Park are the bands I listen to the most! I enjoy spending time with my friends, my girlfriend (the wonderful Emma!) and generally wondering about doing random stuff! Oh by the way, my favourite type of sandwich is a BBQ Chicken sandwich... Yum!
